Frequently
Asked Questions
| How
long does it take to set up the Aqua Jump? |
It
takes one to two hours to set up the Aqua Jump for
the first time, quicker if there are several people
to help or if you have done it before. |
| How
do you inflate the Aqua Jump tube? |
With
an industrial strength inflator, it only takes about
10 to 20 minutes to inflate the Aqua Jump tube,
depending on the tube size. You can also use a shop
vacuum or low-pressure air compressor, but it will
take twice as long. |
| How
do you deflate the Aqua Jump tube? |
Again,
you can use an industrial inflator or a shop vacuum,
positioned in reverse, to deflate the tube. |
| What
is the tube made of? |
The
tube material is the same high-grade material used
in ocean-going inflatables and Zodiak boats. It's
30oz., 1000 Denier, UV-treated PVC vinyl. All seams
are heat-welded for maximum strength and doubled
at key stress points. |
| Can
the Aqua Jump be used in salt water? |
Yes,
the Aqua Jump can be used in the ocean and other
salt water bodies. In addition to the UV-treated
material, the Aqua Jump's springs, D-rings and tramp
frame are made from heavy-duty galvanized steel.
Because of the salt water environment, these metal
components may need replaced more frequently. |
| Will
the Aqua Jump fade in the sun? |
The
tube will retain its brilliance for years because
the material is UV-treated. |
| Can
the Aqua Jump be left out in the water? |
Most
people leave the Aqua Jump in the water for the
season. There are two things to consider: 1)your
local regulations for anchoring and 2) if the areas
is consistently exposed to high winds. |
| How
deep does the water have to be to use the Aqua Jump? |
You
should anchor your Aqua Jump in at least 10 feet
of water in an area at least 30 feet from any docks,
boats or other obstructions. |
| How
do you anchor the Aqua Jump? |
It
depends on the water, the water bottom, exposure
to high winds, and strength of the currents. There
is an anchoring harness in the center of the tube
that includes a stainless steel D-ring. You can
attach an anchor to this ring, or create an anchoring
mechanism of your own. A land screw is probably
the most effective anchoring system in active water
ways. |
| How
do you transport the Aqua Jump on the land and water? |
You
should enlist two or three people to help you lift
and carry the smaller Aqua Jumps from land to water,
and four to five people for the large Aqua Jump.
RAVE doesn't recommend towing the Aqua Jump on the
water, although it can be transported at very low
speeds. |
| Can
the Aqua Jump be used as a land trampoline? |
The
Aqua Jump was not designed for use on land. Like
any inflatable product, the Aqua Jump tube should
not be exposed rough edges or sharp objects like
rocks and sticks. |
| How
high can you bounce on the Aqua Jump? |
The
bounce height depends on the tube inflation and
weight of the bouncer. It won't perform exactly
like a land trampoline because the water absorbs
some of the bounce. The trampoline surface is designed
so you won't hit the water below, even with really
big bounces. Some water may splash up, however,
from the wave action caused by the tube. |
| Can
you bounce higher on the bigger Aqua Jumps? |
The
size of the Aqua Jump is not related to the bounce
height. |
| Do
you need a permit for the Aqua Jump? |
You
should check with your local authorities or DNR
to determine permit requirements. |
| How
do you repair the Aqua Jump? |
You
can locate a leak in an inflatable product by spraying
the tube with soapy water. When you find the leak
and determine the hole size, use a patch from the
repair kit and cut a swatch 1/2 inch wider than
the hole. Deflate the product and clean the area
around the hole with rubbing alcohol. Apply glue
from the repair kit to the patch and the area around
the hole. Let the glue dry until it becomes tacky.
Stick the glued parts to each other and rub them
together using a hard, flat, smooth surface. Let
the patch dry for at least 24 hours before inflating.
For bigger holes and tears, follow the same procedure
but put a patch on the inside as well as the outside. |
| What
is the warranty on the Aqua Jump? |
RAVE
offers a one-year warranty for defects in material
and workmanship. If the product is being used commercially,
like at a camp or resort, there is a 60-day warranty. |
| How
do you maintain and store the Aqua Jump? |
To
store the Aqua Jump, you should first clean the
entire inflatable. After the tube dries, you can
deflate the tube using the an inflator or a shop
vacuum. Roll the tube loosely and place it in a
container. (A large plastic garbage can works well
to store the tube and keep safe from mice). Some
people keep the trampoline frame intact and lean
it against a wall instead of taking all the pieces
apart. |
| How
is the Aqua Jump different from other trampolines? |
The
Aqua Jump is the original water trampoline, manufactured
by RAVE Sports. The Aqua Jump was designed for wear-and-tear
for use by camps and resorts and has:
•
great accessories like the Aqua Launch and Aqua
Log to enhance the fun.
• heat-welded
seams, which stay firmly sealed even in the hottest
sun.
•
a Halkey-Roberts valve that allows you to easily
inflate the tube. Its commercial-grade valve that
has a rotating open/close stem that's easy to
use. One really convenient feature of the Aqua
Jump is that the valve is located on the tube
above the water line, in case the need to adjust
the air while the tube is in the water.
•
a stainless steel marine ladder shaped to the
tube contour.
•
an extra-wide spring pad cover to protect the
user from the frame and the springs.
• multiple
bar holder straps to stabilize the jump surface,
as well as frame sleeves to cover the frame connection
joints.
•
a three-point interior anchoring system that protects
jumpers from all anchor lines
• bar
handle patches that are box-stitched for added
durability. |
| With
one air chamber, will the Aqua Jump sink if it gets
a hole? |
The
Aqua Jump will not sink if the tube is punctured.
Enough air accumulates in the tube to keep the Aqua
Jump components afloat. |
